Reiki cannot do any harm.
When I first started my journey, I was afraid of meditation. Meditation! My spouse also had fear when I started my Reiki journey, and was worried I’d open portals I couldn’t close.
I can tell you, without a shadow of a doubt, these were just fears. Fears of the shadow trying to keep us “safe”. But had I not acknowledged the fear and asked to walk with it, I wouldn’t be here today— teaching.
Reiki builds confidence and trust in yourself and the Divine. When the faith is unshakeable and unwavering, you can surrender your fears and fall softly into the hands of the Universe.
“What if I don’t feel anything?”
This is totally okay! Feeling with our senses, tuning into subtle energy, and learning to trust our intuition are practices. Intuition is a muscle. You have to build it, especially if you have cut yourself off from the sensation for a long time.

Hello divine soul — I’m Alea, and I’ll be your guide through Reiki Level 1, and the Reiki Alchemy Academy. Ellana Fae is my spiritual name, my higher self who channels the divine essence of nature.
Ever since I was young, I always felt… different. I stood out, went against the grain, stuck up for my beliefs, and didn’t have a filter. I said what I meant, and meant what I said, and that ruffled more than a few feathers.
I saw spirits and angels, and I had questions about life that my mother didn’t have answers for. What happens when we die? Where do we go? Why do I see things that will happen? Why can I see things that happened long ago? What are these social constructs? Why do people lie when I can clearly see the truth?
I was into herbs, plants, healing, and transformation when my peers were playing in fast-food playgrounds. How I wanted to relate, play, and let go. I wanted to laugh and connect with other kids as easily as it seemed for everyone else.
However, my life and the turn of events of my childhood led me to the path of the healer very early on. A keen observer. A witness. An inquisitor. My broadened awareness enabled a deep connection to the questions I had and an insight that helped me save myself.
I always wanted to be a healer in some form or fashion. I looked into becoming a nurse in the military out of high school. I thought about becoming a psychologist or a nurse. At one point, I wanted to be a “white witch” (before I really knew what that meant) so that I could help heal people with herbs and plants— what I know now as an herbalist.
Then, when my Saturn return arrived, it shattered me and my reality, and I needed to repair and rebuild myself. That’s when I had my spiritual awakening, started leaning into the spiritual gifts I always knew I had, and shortly after— became attuned to Reiki.
When that moment came, it was a rush of familiarity, warmth, and an opening. Like a light switch came on in the dark. It was like I had been sleepwalking through life, in a monochromatic haze, grinding my dreams and hopes away, until that first attunement. After the attunement, it was like I had become awake. Awake to the reality of things as they actually are, not the falsehoods and masks this world has you believe are real. I was a sensitive living in the confines of a cold and harsh world, and Reiki lifted the veil and showed me how colorful, warm, and gentle the Universe can be.
